BCCI approves 2 new teams for IPL 2022 edition
New Delhi : The Board of Cricket Council in India (BCCI) on Thursday approved two new teams in the IPL from 2022, making it a 10 team affair.
"Two new teams will be introduced in the 2022 IPL," a board official told PTI.
In the other major development, the BCCI also discussed ICC’s proposal of including cricket to the Olympics in T20 format. If things go well, cricket will be seen as a part of 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
The board also discussed that both men and women must be compensated equally for their contribution to the cricket.
In other decisions, veteran Congress leader Rajiv Shukla has officially anointed the Board’s vice president in place of Mahim Verma from Uttarakhand.
Ahead of the AGM, the board had terminated the contract of Assistant General Manager KVP Rao, reported India Today.
