New Delhi : A case over Qutub Minar mosque will be heard in the court today; Imam Sher Mohammed has claimed that the ASI has banned namaz offering at the mosque since May 13.

He explained that a guard came on May 13 and told him that the ASI officials have come to see you. The officials then told him that the namaz offering will be banned till further notice. They even did not allow four people (banning outsiders) to offer namaz.

On asking a reason behind the decision, they claimed that it is an order from senior department.

Namaz restarted in 2016

ASI had banned namaz offering in the mosque located at the right side of the entrance of Qutub Minar. The namaz was banned in 2010 during the commonwealth games after no appropriate permission was available with the mosque officials. Later, in 2016, the namaz offering restarted and now it has been reportedly banned again.
