Rajnath Singh confirms co-ordinated disengagement at Pangong lake
New Delhi : Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday addressed Rajya Sabha to notify about the current situation around eastern Ladakh where India and China had been in standoff from past few months. He affirmed disengagement process had begun on the basis of an agreement by both sides.
Addressing the upper house of the Parliament, Rajnath Singh said that both sides have agreed for an organized and phased disengagement from the border area along Pangong lake.
He informed that China will move back its military to Finger 8 and India will call back its soldiers to its old base at Finger 3.
Meanwhile, patrolling from Finger 8 to Finger 4 will remain suspended from both the sides.
Mr Rajnath Singh also assured that the disputed area along the Pangong lake will come to complete peace in coming days. While saying so, he strongly asserted that no land has been compromised while resolving the matter.
He mentioned that the Chinese side has been made well aware of the fact that Indian soldiers are capable of guarding their motherland and will not accept loss of an inch land.
