Uri attack: Rajnath Singh, Manohar Parrikar holds strategy meet

New Delhi : Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar on Monday briefed Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the current situation, while Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh and called for a government's strategy meet after jawans were killed in the terror attack at Uri.

NSA Ajit Doval and Intelligence Bureau director, chief of external intel unit RAW along with top officials will also be present at the meeting.

It may be mentioned here that seventeen jawans were killed in the gruesome terror attack at Army headquarters in Uri sector of Jammu and Kashmir.

Highlights:

# A day after the terror attack, the government is now gathering evidences to expose Pakistan's role in it before the SAARC summit scheduled to be held in Islamabad on November 9-10.

# DGMO Lt Gen Ranbir Singh told the media that the terrorists belonged to the Pakistan based group Jaish-e-Mohammed.

# Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is unlikely to attend the SAARC Summit in Islamabad, sources said.

# Kiren Rijiju, MoS Home Ministry said, “Should not pay any attention to what Pakistan says.”
