Mumbai : Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh chief Mohan Bhagwat has tested positive for coronavirus, he has been hospitalized in Nagpur, announced the organization on Twitter.

The 70-year-old RSS chief was tested for coronavirus after he showed common symptoms of the infection, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) tweeted.

"He is currently having common symptoms of COVID-19 and has been admitted to Kingsway Hospital in Nagpur, is undergoing general check-up and caution," the RSS tweeted.



Interestingly, he was administered the first dose of coronavirus vaccine on March 7.

On Friday, Maharashtra has reported more than 58000 coronavirus cases on Friday. Pune, with 10,084 Covid cases, was the worst-affected district today, followed by Mumbai with 9,200 single-day infections.
