Section 144 imposed in Noida for April month

Noida : The Gautam Budh Nagar administration on Friday announced that section 144 has been imposed in Noida starting from April 1, 2022 to April 30, 2022. The decision has been taken in view of a series of festivals and events in the month.

The commissioner released an order for the same claiming that peace and harmony are of utmost importance. For this section 144 has been imposed in Noida and people must follow the order.

Chaitra Navratri and Ramzan will start on April 2, Ram Navmi will be celebrated on April 10. Then on April 14, there is Ambedkar Jayanti, followed by Good Friday on April 15. Other festivals include Hanuman Jayanti on April 16, Easter on April 17, and the Jumma namaz of Ramazan month on April 29.

What is Section 144?

Section 144 of CrPC Empowers a District Magistrate, a Sub-divisional Magistrate or any other Executive Magistrate specially empowered by the State Government to restrict a person or a certain number of people or people in general from certain acts in the interest of law and order or general well being of people.

Under the rule, a gathering of more than four people is prohibited.
