New Delhi : At least two terrorists have been killed in an ongoing encounter in Handwara area of Kupwara's district in Jammu and Kashmir. The militants are believed to be from the Jaish-e-Mohammed militant group. A search operation to find any other militant is underway.

The encounter is a joint operation conducted by the Rashtriya Rifles, Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and the Jammu and Kashmir police.

The February 27 encounter came just after the Indian Air Force (IAF) avenged the Pulwama terror attack by carrying a ‘non-military pre-emptive air strike’ on three camps of the terrorist organisation Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM) in Pakistan thus killing nearly 300 militants.

Since February 14 attack on CRPF convoy, India has killed more than 10 terrorists in the valley.
