Uri terror attack: PM Narendra Modi assures action against culprits

New Delhi : Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday condemned the cowardly terror attack carried out by 4 militants on Uri Army base in Baramulla District in Jammu and Kashmir. He assured action against the culprits of the "despicable" strike.

Saluting soldiers who lost their lives in the tragic incident he said that their services will always be remembered.

"We strongly condemn the cowardly terror attack in Uri. I assure the nation that those behind this despicable attack will not go unpunished," Modi tweeted on the strike which martyred nothing less than 17 soldiers and injured nearly 30.

He also spoke to Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar and Home Minister Rajnath Singh over the incident. The former will be meeting injured soldiers in Uri.
