Vikas Dubey died of haemorrhage and shock: Autopsy report

New Delhi : Gangster Vikas Dubey died because of haemorrhage and shock after he received injuries from a firearm during an escape attempt, said the postmortem report.

On July 10, Vikas Dubey was killed in a police encounter by the special task force (STF) of Uttar Pradesh police. He attempted to make an escape after the car in which he was travelling toppled on the Kanpur highway.

The gangster was arrested on July 9 from Mahakal Temple in Ujjain. He was being brought back to Kanpur for further investigation in murder of eight policemen.

ANI reported that three bullets pierced through his body and that there were ten injuries citing the post-mortem report. The first bullet struck his right side shoulder and two others hit his chest on the left side, ANI said.

The post-mortem report also mentioned signs of injuries on the head, elbow, rib and stomach on the right side of his body.

Meanwhile, several politicians dubbed it to be a fake encounter to hide secrets with Vikas Dubey. One-member judicial commission has been made to probe the encounter.

The commission headed by retired justice SK Aggarwal has been given two months’ time to submit its report.
