Cyclone Fani severely damages Bhubaneswar airport

Odisha : The Biju Patnaik International Airport in Odisha capital Bhubaneswar was left in bizarre state after the cyclone Fani passed through it.

In the pictures and video shared by news agency ANI, the airport can be seen sporting some severe damages on the property. Even parts of the hoarding of the name of the airport seemed to have been blown away.

Some critical damages were also seen on the roof of the airport amid several trees getting uprooted due to strong winds.

The airport was closed by the authorities as a precautionary measure during the cyclone Fani impact time.

All flights from Bhubaneswar had been cancelled from midnight as the cyclone was to make landfall today morning. Nearly 160 trains have been called and flights have been stopped from Bhubaneswar and Kolkata. Fani has now gradually weakened and is moving towards Bengal. Flight operations will resume at 1pm tomorrow in Bhubaneswar.
