CBI books BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar, 10 others

Uttar Pradesh : The Central Bureau of Investigations (CBI) on Wednesday booked Bharatiya Janata Party's MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar and 10 others for murder charges in the accident case of Unnao Rape survivor, said a news report.

Following the normal procedure, CBI has taken over the case by re-registering the FIR in the accident case.

It has been learned that the CBI has alerted its officials about the case and they might visit the accident site, taking details about the case from police officials of Gurubakshganj Police Station in Rae Bareli.

On Tuesday, the Centre had handed over the Unnao Rape Case to CBI on the recommendations of the Uttar Pradesh government which has been criticized mercilessly for failing to provide security to the the girl who alleged that the BJP MLA had raped her. 

On Sunday, a truck has rammed car in which the rape survivor and her family was travelling.

The mother of victim girl has alleged that the accident was meant to eliminate her daughter, claiming that it was planned by Kuldeep in the jail. One of the two deceased aunts of the girl was a witness in the rape case.

"It was not an accident but a conspiracy to eliminate all of us... The son of a co-accused in the case, Shahi Singh, and another youth of the village had threatened us," the teen's mother was quoted as saying by news agency Press Trust of India. "I have got to know that the lawmaker got it done. He is doing everything from inside jail," she said.

In its initial report, the police has said that it appears to be an accident by a truck whose number plate was not properly patched.

At a press conference today, the police said they have arrested the truck driver and the owner. The number plates, the owner allegedly said, were defaced to stop identification of the vehicle as he had defaulted on the payments for the vehicle loan.
