Maha polls: NCP breaks 15-year-old alliance with Congress

- After BJP and Shiv Sena ended their relationship, Congress also called for an end to the 15-year-old relationship with NCP
- On Wednesday, Congress had announced its candidates for 118 seats
- NCP was demanding equal sharing of seats in the assembly polls
- In the last assembly elections, NCP had fought 114 seats and Congress 174
- “We have decided to end the alliance,” state NCP president Sunil Tatkare told reporters
- NCP blamed Congress for not holding appropriate talks over seat sharing
