Rahul Gandhi takes a jibe a PM Modi, says speech shortest as he has nothing to speak
Bengaluru : While Prime Minister Narendra Modi made headlines for delivering shortest Independence Day speech at Red Fort on Tuesday, Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi claimed that PM's speech was short because he had nothing to speak.
"My mother ( Sonia Gandhi), who was present at the Independence Day celebration function at Red Fort, told me later that it was a very short speech. Mr Modi is reducing the duration of his speeches as now he has nothing to talk about," Rahul said in a public meeting in Karnataka.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi had delivered a speech of about 54 minutes on Tuesday to greet the nation, his shortest since 2014. He spoke for over 65 minutes in 2014, 86 minutes in 2015, and 94 minutes in 2016.
