Barack Obama's Charlottesville tweet wins hearts, becomes most liked on Twitter

New Delhi : A tweet by former US President Barack Obama after the Charlottesville violence in which he quoted iconic South African anti-apartheid leader Nelson Mandela is winning hearts all across the world. With 3.2 million likes, it has become the most liked tweet in the history.

"No one is born hating another person because of the color of his skin or his background or his religion," the tweet read.

56-year-old Barack Obama had shared the tweet on Saturday with a picture of him looking at a bunch of kids of different ethnicities and races at a window.

"This Tweet from @BarackObama just became the most Liked Tweet ever. It set the record at approximately 10:07 EST," a Silicon Valley-based social media company said in a statement.

Apart from being the most liked tweet ever, it is also the 5th most retweeted post on Twitter.
