Lucknow : Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held his second cabinet meeting on Tuesday and this time he focused on 'power' delivery to villages and cities in UP.

Mr. Adityanath has ordered 18-hour power supply in villages and 24 hours in district headquarters of the state. Earlier, he had announced loan waiver for the farmers.

He has directed officials to make sure that villages in Uttar Pradesh get uninterrupted power supply from 6 PM to 6 AM in the morning, allowing students to study well even in nights.

"It is the dream of BJP chief Amit Shah and the Chief Minister that every house, every poor, and every village get power by 2018," said UP's Power Minister Shrikant Sharma after the three-hour cabinet meeting.

This will be the first time in history when UP villages will be getting an assured 18-hour power supply.
