New Delhi : Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and others were taken into preventive custody on Thursday after they were stopped by Delhi cops near President's house in the national capital. It is expected that they will be released after some time.

The Congress leaders were marching to meet the President to submit a memorandum for his interference in the ongoing protest by the farmers against new Farm Bill. Some of the Congress leaders like Rahul Gandhi were allowed to meet the President.

"I want to tell the Prime Minister that these farmers are not going to go back home until these farm laws are repealed. The government should convene a joint session of parliament and take back these laws. Opposition parties stand with farmers and labourers," Rahul Gandhi said after the meeting.

"Any dissent against this government is classified as having elements of terror. We are undertaking this march to voice our support for the farmers," Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said, sitting on the road.

She also tagged the government as 'sinner' for the kind of terms it allegedly used for farmers in several occasion.

"Only the leaders, who have permission, will be allowed (to go to Rashtrapati Bhavan)," police officer Pragya said.
