Be cordial to citizens, Delhi minister tells officials

New Delhi : Delhi Social Welfare Minister Rajendra Pal Gautam on Tuesday convened a meeting of all district officers to sensitize them about "genial and cordial conduct" towards citizens who visit their offices to get their work done.

Gautam also instructed tthem to fully computerize all the district offices and set up a single window clearance system for all issues and public announcements in district offices regarding the processes to be followed in the offices.

"A token system would be introduced so that all visitors barring the one called to the counter would be seated comfortably in the office. Water, sanitation and toilet services too would be provided in all the offices," the Minister's office said in a statement.

Gautam warned everyone that any irregularity in delivering services or harassment caused to any citizen" will be dealt very sternly and actions would ensue" under the district officers auspices.

"The district officers will henceforth meet their respective MLAs fortnightly to receive and resolve pending issues brought to the notice of the MLAs," he said, according to the statement.
