Plasma Therapy – a possible solution to coronavirus in time of crisis

New Delhi : The scientists and researchers are still trying to find a cure to coronavirus that has brought the world on its knees. While, there seems to be no quick solution, a set of doctors and researchers have suggested plasma therapy to save the lives of serious coronavirus patients.

What is Plasma Therapy?

It is not a new concept, it has been used in history, but due to limited resources it cannot be used massively and limited to a few number.

In plasma therapy, the plasma of a person, who has recovered from COVID-19, and thus has sufficient antibodies to fight the disease, is drawn and transferred to people who have freshly contracted the disease.

This enables the other person to fight the virus and recovers him.

Several Indian states have sought permission from the Centre to conduct plasma therapy on serious patients.
