Bikaner House's Chandni Bagh turns colorful with Rajasthan Festival-2024
New Delhi : On Saturday, the live performance by famous folk artist Shri Kutle Khan and his troupe from Rajasthan, presented by the Rajasthan Tourism Department, attracted the attention of all the dignitaries and visitors sitting in Chandni Bagh at the Rajasthan Festival, which showcases Rajasthani handicrafts, cuisine and music in Delhi. In the musical evening that lasted for about two hours, the audience stood up and applauded every song sung by Shri Khan.
At the inauguration of the cultural evening, Principal Resident Commissioner Shri Alok felicitated the famous musician Shri Kutle Khan by presenting him with a safa and a memento.
Shri Chhatarpal Yadav, Assistant Director, Rajasthan Tourist Reception Center, said that Kutle Khan, born in Jaisalmer district of Rajasthan, is a multi-talented folk musician from the rich and vibrant land of the state. Hailing from a family of Manganiyar musicians, Kutle Khan is famous as a multi-instrumentalist and singer. Having traveled to over 80 countries, Shri Khan has been honored with several prestigious awards including the 'GIMA Award' in 2015 and the IIFA Award in 2019. Shri Khan recently sang the famous song 'Param Sundari'.
Inauguration of Shilpgram of RUDA
The Shilpgram organized by the Rural Non-Farm Development Agency at the CCA Lawn of Bikaner House was inaugurated by the Principal Resident Commissioner of the State, Shri Alok, by cutting the ribbon and lighting the lamp. On this occasion, Shri Alok congratulated on the Rajasthan Foundation Day and said that in this Shilpgram, Delhiites will get an opportunity to buy handmade products of Rajasthan. He visited all the stalls of the artisans who came from different parts of the state and encouraged their art.
On this occasion, Additional Resident Commissioner Smt. Anju Omprakash said that 35 stalls have been organized in this Shilpgram. She said that in this Shilpgram, various types of Rajasthani handicrafts made by selected artisans of Rajasthan such as blue pottery, Rajasthani shawls, jewelry, brass metal work, clay face, footwear, Barmer embroidery, Sanganeri print sarees, suits, terracotta, gota patti, Tarkashi, Rajasthani paintings, Kota Doria, Ajrak print, Pokhran pottery, Kawad woodwork, Rajasthani bangles etc. will be available for sale.
Rajasthan Festival now till April 4
Smt. Anju Omprakash said that the duration of the Rajasthan Festival has been extended by two days in view of the public demand. This colorful program full of Rajasthani diversities which was to run till April 02.
Now the audience will be able to enjoy the Rajasthan Festival till April 04.
On this occasion, officers and employees of the Delhi offices of the state government, members of the Rajasthan Mitra Mandal and other invited dignitaries were also present.
