Rajasthan Utsav-2024: Spectacular Event Hosted at Chandni Bagh, Bikaner House

New Delhi : As part of the series of weekly programs organized on the occasion of Rajasthan Foundation Day, a cultural evening was organized by the Rajasthan Tourism Department at Chandni Bagh, Bikaner House, New Delhi, on Thursday, where folk artists of Rajasthan mesmerized the audience with their beautiful performances.

The inauguration of Rajasthan Utsav was done by the Principal Resident Commissioner Mr. Alok by lighting the lamp.

On this occasion, Additional Resident Commissioner Mrs. Anju Omprakash, Deputy Resident Commissioner Mrs. Rinku Meena, Senior Accountant Mrs. Shreya Singh Bhadoriya, and Assistant Director of Tourist Welcome Center Mrs. Deepali Sharma were also present. 

Mr. Chatrapal Yadav, Assistant Director of the Rajasthan Tourist Welcome Center, informed that the cultural evening commenced with a warm welcome to the guests. The program opened with a soulful performance of  Ganesh Vandana by Mr. Rafiq from Jodhpur and his fellow artists. After this, Mrs. Moru Sapera and her team presented the traditional dances of the state, including Chari, Bhavai, Kalbeliya, and Ghoomar offering an immersive experience of state‚Äôs cultural heritage. The famous artist from Alwar, Mr. Umar Farooq, captivated the audience by the melodious symphony of Bhapang.

The program's presenter, Mr. Khemendra Singh of Alwar, conducted the program excellently.

On this occasion, officials and employees of the Delhi-based offices of the state government, members of the Rajasthan Friends Circle, and other dignitaries were also present.

Turban tying competition:

Turban tying competition was another attraction of the event  in which about 20 participants from various regions of the state demonstrated turban tying in front of dignitaries and spectators. Based on the recommendation of the panel of designated judges, three people were selected. Among them, Mr. Keval Chand was awarded the first prize, Mr. Mukesh Singhal the second, and Kailash Nayak the third.

Painting competition:

A painting competition was also organized on this occasion. This competition was divided into two groups in which about 45 children aged 6 to 12 years participated in the first group and 24 participants aged 12 to 18 years participated in the second group. In this competition also, three participants were selected for the awards based on the recommendation of the panel of designated judges. All of them were given gift hampers as prizes.

Craft Fair organized by RUDA:

In this weekly program of Rajasthan Utsav, on one hand, the craft fair organized by the Rajasthan Rural Non-Agricultural Development Agency (RUDA) attracted the audience with its unique artworks,while on the other, the pottery wheel and block printing workshop offered guests an engaging experience to create their own clay figures.
