Post viral video, number of tourists at Kempty waterfall capped
Mussorie : A day after video of tourists flouting coronavirus rules at famous Kempty waterfall surfaced online, the administration has capped the number of people who can bathe at one time.
According to the latest announcement only 50 people will be allowed at a time for a maximum duration of 30 minutes.
“There will be a time limit of 30 minutes for each bather," District Magistrate Iva Ashish Shrivastava said. She mentioned that a air horn will be blown to signal the exit of people from waterfall.
The order came after a video went viral where many people were seen crowding the fall without wearing mask and maintaining social distancing.
Despite the looming threat of the third wave of Covid-19, videos and pictures of long queues of private vehicles, overcrowded tourist locations have raised alarm.

Since lockdown restrictions have been eased in Himachal Pradesh and other parts of North India, people have been crowding hills to get some relaxation from the heatwave in plain areas.
The government has been continuously warning people to stay at home and move out only in the case of emergency.
