Former India skipper Sourav Ganguly was on Tuesday named in the seven-member Special Committee formed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) to identify the critical points in implementation of the Lodha Committee reforms.

In a new turn of events, the tussle between BCCI officials and Lodha committee is brewing up. According to Justice RM Lodha, the panel has discussed the reforms with BCCI top brass and former Indian captains.

It’s been some hard days for Board of Control for Cricket in India. On Monday, the Supreme court sacked President Anurag Thakur and Secretary Ajay Shirke for not obeying the reforms of the Lodha committee.

The Lodha committee vs BCCI took an ugly turn on Monday, when the Supreme court sacked BCCI President Anurag Thakur and Secretary Ajay Shirke. Not only the apex court removed them from their posts, it also issued notices to them asking why perjury and contempt proceedings should not be initiated against them.

As BCCI announced its plan to call-off ongoing India vs New Zealand series, Lodha panel took a swift action and asked banks to unfreeze the board's bank accounts at the earliest. Under any circumstances "cricket must go on," said retired Chief justice of India RM Lodha, who is also heading the committee recommended by Supreme Court to recommend reforms in the BCCI.
