2018 CWG, live: Boxer Mary Kom wins 18th Gold Medal for India
New Delhi : Renowned boxer Mary Kom claimed gold by defeating Northern Ireland's Kristina O'Hara in the final at 2018 Commonwealth Games taking place at Gold Coast, Australia. The legendary boxer wins gold in women's 45-48kg boxing competition. India has collected 18th gold medal in its account.
Mary Kom punched Northern Ireland’s Kristina O’Hara in a common decision from all the five judges in the final of 45-48kg weight category in CWG 2018. The Indian Indian Olympic boxer from Manipur is continuing to make India proud since 2008. She bagged a silver medal at the 2008 Asian Women's Boxing Championship in India and a fourth consecutive gold medal at the AIBA Women's World Boxing Championship in China. Her practice of winning gold medal also continued at the 2009 Asian Indoor Games in Vietnam
