Asia Cup 2022: Sri Lanka beat Pakistan by 23 runs, lift 6th title
New Delhi : Sri Lanka on Sunday registered a tremendous 23-run victory over Pakistan to lift their 6th Asia Cup title at the Dubai International Stadium. Sri Lanka played a magnificent game and never allowed Pakistan to take control on the match.
However, the starting of the game was not in Sri Lanka's favour as they lost their first five wickets in quick succession; but after that, they played like a champion and first took the scorecard to 170 runs and then with disciplined bowling and fielding they took the game out of Pakistan's hand.
Pakistan in their chase got a good start and were cruising at 93/2 but were bowled out for mere 147 runs.
Pacer Pramod Madushan (4/34 in 4 overs) and leg-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga (3/27 in 4 overs) did the job for their team and gave a reason to cheer to Sri Lankan fans.
