New Delhi : An FIR has been filed against cricketer Yuvraj Singh for allegedly passing a casteist remark to Yuzvendra Chahal during one of the Instagram live session with Rohit Sharma in 2020. His comments during the video chat were taken as disrespect to the Dalit community and the all-rounder cricketer had issued an apology later.

An advocate in Haryana's Hisar has filed a complaint against Yuvraj Singh. According to a report by India Today, the Hansi police station of Hisar has registered a case under Sections 153, 153A, 295, 505 of IPC, besides sections 3 (1) (r) and 3 (1) (s) of the SC/ST Act.

During a live video chat session with Rohit Sharma in 2020, Yuvraj Singh had used the word 'b***gi' while referring to Indian spinners Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav.

"Yeh b***gi log ko kaam nahi hai yeh Yuzi aur isko (Kuldeep)," - Yuvraj had told Rohit while speaking about Chahal's TikTok videos.

"Yuzi ko dekha kya video daala hai apni family ke saath. Maine usko wahi bola ki apne baap ko nacha raha hai, pagal toh nahi hai tu," Rohit had replied.

Soon after the video, the cricket fans slammed Yuvraj Singh and facing the heat from fans, Yuvi instantly issued an apology for his comments.

"This is to clarify I have never believed in any kind of disparity, be it on the basis of caste, colour, creed or gender. I have given and continue to spend my life for the welfare of people. I believe in the dignity of life and respect each individual without exception," Yuvraj said.

In 2019, Yuvraj Singh retired from all forms of the cricket.
