Mumbai : Former Indian Cricketer Gautam Gambhir shared a mysterious video clip on social media, raising his concern over wellbeing of former Indian captain Kapil Dev. In the video, Kapil Dev can be seen escorted by two men with his hands bound behind their back and their face obscured.

Gautam Gambhir's post has sent a major shockwave on social media with people speculating it as an actual kidnaping footage or an advertisement stunt. Check out the post below:

Sharing the post on social media, Gautam Gambhir wrote, "Anyone else received this clip, too? Hope it’s not actually @therealkapildev and that Kapil Paaji is fine!"

Has World Cup winning captain been kidnapped?

It is easy to jump to conclusions, but it is equally important to not fall for anything that we see online. So far there has been no concrete evidence that could clear the kidnapping angle, also there is no proof that it is some kind of stunt for advertisement or any other purpose.

However, the social media debate indicates that it could be one of the promotional stunt as many companies these days try unique ways to gather attention of people.

While the video continues to spread across social media platforms, there is a stark divergence of opinions. Some are resolutely convinced that it's nothing more than a publicity-seeking advertisement, whereas others express sincere worry about Kapil Dev's health and safety. The circumstances remain unclear, and it remains difficult to arrive at any conclusive judgments until further information becomes available.

We sincerely hope Kapil Dev is fine and all this turns out to be a hoax or advertisement.
