IPL 2019: Delhi Capitals claim victory with super over against Kolkata

New Delhi : In a first super over of the Indian Premier League 2019, Delhi Capitals won the game against Kolkata Knight Riders on Saturday.

The super over, however, revealed that Delhi still lags hard hitters on their side as they could muster just 10 off a Prasidh Krishna over. But then South African paceman Kagiso Rabada stepped in and took the game away from Kolkata Knight Riders by giving only 7 runs.

After conceding a boundary of the first ball to the in-form Andre Russell, Rabada returned with two yorkers, the second of which was delivered at 147.3 kph and knocked Russell's middle pole out. Robin Uthappa and Dinesh Karthik could manage only three singles thereafter as Delhi capped off a memorable win at the Feroz Shah Kotla.

Prithi Shaw once again proved himself as a great batsman; he scored 99 runs in just 55 balls to ensure his team reaches super over. Chasing 186 target on a wicket that had been described as slow always needed assuredness on the mental front and a good reading of the surface.

He was also selected as the Man of the Match for his brilliant innings.
