New Delhi : When it comes to Indian Premier League, the first thing comes to mind is how much money is getting associated this time. To give a reference about how cash rich is the league, the media rights for the same have been sold for massive Rs 44,075 crores.

The television and digital rights have been sold to two different companies. According to a report, IPL is set to earn over Rs 100 crores per match.

The official announcement about the winners of media rights will be made by BCCI soon. IPL media rights comprise four separate buckets —TV rights for India, digital rights for India, a non-exclusive set of 18 matches for digital (India), and the rest of the world.

So far, the digital media rights were held by Disney-owned Star India.

A total of 7 companies—Zee Group, Sony Pictures, Viacom-led JV, Disney+Hotstar, Culver Max Entertainment, Times Internet, and Fun Asia participated in the media auction.
