New Delhi : Indian skipper Rohit Sharma credited win over Pakistan in the opening match of T20 World Cup as Virat Kohli's best innings ever, also the country's best performance under the situation. India won the match against Pakistan in a nail-biting last over thriller.

Virat Kohli proved his mettle and showed his class against Pakistan as he scored an unbeaten 82 runs to ensure the victory for his team.

In a post-match press conference, Rohit Sharma praised Virat Kohli and his performance in the game. "It was Virat Kohli's best performance for sure; and in the situation we were in and then winning the game, it has to be one of India's best knocks," said Rohit.

He also praised all-rounder Hardik Pandya for his performance in the game.

"Hardik Pandya and Virat Kohli have played many T20 games under the pressure situation and both of them knew how to handle the tough situations," Rohit Sharma added.

Cut to match, Team India pulled off a miraculous win against Pakistan in the opening game of T20 match. Winning the toss, Rohit Sharma chose to bowl first.

Pakistan scored 159 runs for the loss of eight wickets. In a reply, India lost 4 quick wickets for 31 runs and were in immense pressure to pull the game off. Then came Virat Kohli who took the game in his hands and scored match winning 82 runs without losing his wicket.

The match went up to last ball as India managed win over Pakistan.
