Perth : Former Australian cricketer Ricky Ponting was admitted to a hospital on Friday after complaining of a little pain in the chest and uneasiness. He had left commentary box midway in the Perth game and went to hospital for treatment.

According to a news report, the Australian player was helped by Justin Langer, who was also commentating with him during the game. Mr Ponting was taken to Australian team doctor Leigh Golding before the decision was made to leave him for the hospital.

After returning to Perth Stadium, Ricky Ponting said he is feeling "all shiny and new".

Explaining Day 3, Ricky Ponting said, "I probably scared a lot of people yesterday and had a scary moment for myself."

"I was sitting in the commentary box halfway through the stint (on day three) and got a couple of really short and sharp pains to my chest. I tried to stretch it out and get rid of it, and probably didn’t want to give too much away when I was on air."

Meanwhile, the former Australian cricketer has claimed that it was a good learning experience for him and it is right time to know that people of his age must take care of their health. Often the health gets ignored, mentioning this he also talked about former cricketers Shane Warne and Rod Marsh, who had lost their lives after suffering a heart attack.

Ricky Ponting has returned to continue his commentary for Day 4 of Australia versus West Indies Test match at Perth stadium.
