Virat Kohli likely to be dropped from T20 World Cup 2024

New Delhi : Imagining an Indian World Cup team without Virat Kohli is unbelievable, but, it looks like, the selectors are willing to make it a reality and go ahead with a team for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 without him.

After being absent from the T20 squad for more than a year, Virat Kohli made his return against Afghanistan in January. But, it looks like the selectors are not willing to pick him up for the upcoming T20 World Cup squad.

It must be noted that Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli have not been picked up in the T20 squad since T20 World Cup 2022. They were given a chance in January when India faced Afghanistan for a bilateral series, where Rohit came up with a decent century while Virat Kohli did not score big.

Rohit Sharma's participation has been confirmed for the upcoming T20 World Cup by secretary Jay Shah, Virat Kohli's participation is yet to be confirmed and it is expected that the selectors may put an axe on him.

According to a media report, it has been learned that Ajit Agarkar-led selection committee is not very keen on picking up Virat Kohli for the squad as he is struggling to cope with the needs of the team right now for the short-format game.

The report also mentioned that the decision to pick up Virat Kohli has been left completely over Ajit Agarkar.
