New Delhi : National Cricket Academy Chief VVS Laxman can be given charge of head coach for Team India in the upcoming Australia T20I series, which is set to begin one week after the conclusion of ICC ODI World Cup.

Current head coach Rahul Dravid’s contract is set to end with the ongoing ICC ODI World Cup. However, he may reapply for the post, but it will be interesting to see if he wants to continue with it or not.

In another media report, it has been mentioned that the entire squad playing the ODI World Cup will be given rest due to the extensive travel schedule and gruelling campaign.

According to a report by PTI, it is anticipated that Laxman will assume the role of the head coach for the Indian cricket team while Dravid takes a break. A source from the BCCI stated, "VVS Laxman has traditionally been in charge when Rahul Dravid has been on a break, and it appears that this pattern will continue for the series immediately following the World Cup."

Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma led Indian team arrived in Lucknow on Wednesday, October 25th, to prepare for their upcoming match against the defending champions, England, which is scheduled to take place at the Ekana Stadium on Sunday, October 29th.
