YAHOO! Virat Kohli, MS Dhoni most searched personalities this year

Mumbai : MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli are definitely most loved cricketers across the world and they have added another feather to their crown as they have been named as the most searched personalities on Yahoo.

According to a study conducted by Yahoo, it has been found that Kohli and Dhoni featured among the Top-20 most-searched personalities. While the former India skipper finished 11th, his successor grabbed the 19th spot.

The fact becomes more interesting considering that the sports sector had a major hit from coronavirus, cancelling majority of the sports event in 2020. This study also goes to show the popularity of cricket in not just India, but globally.

The two Indian icons are also the most searched cricketers from December 2015 to December 2019, according to data from SEMrush research.

Meanwhile, Mahendra Singh Dhoni has announced retirement from all forms of the international cricket and Virat Kohli is leading Indian side, which is on an Australian tour.

Kohli will not be available after the first Test at Adelaide as he will be on paternity leave after being granted permission by the BCCI.
