Shaheen Bagh Dadi Bilkis Bano detained after she joined farmers' protest

New Delhi : Bilkis Bano had become a famous face when she was seen sitting at the Shaheen Bagh protest last year. Things became critical when she was again spotted at the farmers' protest at Singhu border in New Delhi. She has been detained by the cops. 

"We are daughters of farmers; we'll go to support farmers’ protest today. We will raise our voice, the Central government should listen to us," she had said before joining the protest.

On asking about her presence at the farmer’s protest, dadi said that during Shaheen Bagh protest farmers had supported them and it is time to return the favour.

Notably, the move by Bilkis Bano to join the farmers’ protest comes days after BJP leaders alleged the farmers protest was being “hijacked” by “pro- Pakistan” and “pro-Khalistan” forces.

Other than Bilkis Bano, Bhim Army chief Chandrashekar Azad was also seen joining the protest at the Delhi-Ghazipur border along with hundreds of his supporters and demanded that the new farms laws be withdrawn immediately.

Amid all the chaos, the Central government has urged the farmers to call off the protest as they have offered talks on the matter on December 3.

The farmers are firm on continuing the protest.
