'Heart Attack': Real Madrid Legend Iker Casillas may not play football ever again

New Delhi : One of the most famous goalkeepers of our generation Iker Casillas suffered a cardiac arrest during the practise session at the training facilities of his club, FC Porto. Soon after he collapsed on Wednesday, he was rushed to the hospital where he was later declared stable after treatment.

Iker Casillas released a statement for fans informing them about the cardiac problem he suffered and its successful treatment. “Casillas is now doing well, the cardiac problem has been resolved. Always together. Go Iker,” FC Porto wrote.

He also posted gratitude to his well-wishers on the social media. However, some reports suggest that he may not be able to play football ever again in his life.

Cassilas’ agent Carlos Cutropia said that there was nothing wrong with the player's health prior to the incident.

Speaking to Spanish radio outlet COPE, he said: “Iker had an intense training session on Tuesday and another one on Wednesday morning.

“Halfway through Wednesday’s session he felt unwell and his chest, mouth and arms were hurting.

“We’re extremely grateful to Porto’s medical team who got Iker to the hospital so quickly.”

You cannot play football with a coronary stent, especially a goalkeeper,” he said, speaking to AS .

“Iker will return to living a normal life, but he can no longer be a professional athlete.”
