"Messi, we are waiting for you," gunmen threatens footballer, open fire at Unico

New Delhi : Gunmen threatened Argentina superstar footballer Lionel Messi with a written message saying that they are waiting for him; They also open fired at a supermarket owned by his in laws in Argentina. No person has been reportedly injured in the morning attack and it is unclear why assailants would target Lionel Messi or the Unico supermarket.

According to reports, 2 men on motorcycle fired at least a dozen of shots into an Unico branch in the early hours. They also left a message on a cardboard that read, "Messi, we’re waiting for you. Javkin is also a drug trafficker, so he won’t take care of you."

Lionel Messi has not shared any reaction on the incident yet. Meanwhile, a lot of fan frenzy was seen after Argentina lifted First World Cup victory in 36 years, led by Lionel Messi.

Messi currently plays for Paris Saint German and spent much of time overseas, though he often visits Argentina and Rosario. Meanwhile, the French team has posted a photo on social media of Messi training on Thursday morning. 

In the other news, Lionel Messi recently won Fifa’s best Mens Player award. He is expected to travel to Argentina later this month to join the national squad in playing 2 friendly matches. The first match will take place on March 23rd against Panama in Buenos Aires. While the second match will be 5 days later against Curacao in Northern city of Santiago del Estero.
