In Dhoni's absence who will captain Chennai Super Kings?

New Delhi : Mahendra Singh Dhoni has become the longest-serving captain in IPL history as he captained his 200th match against Rajasthan Royals. He failed to take his team to victory but he definitely won the hearts of the people who were watching him fight for the team till the last ball.

His supremacy can be seen just from the fact that Jio Cinema logged the highest viewership on its platform when Mahendra Singh Dhoni was batting. Nearly 2.2 crore people were watching the game on Jio Cinema.

After the game ended, sad news arrived for his fans as he was seen struggling to walk during his walk back to the pavilion. Team head coach Stephen Fleming later in a press conference confirmed his injury but also said that he would recover in time before the next game as he will get ample time to rest before Chennai faces Bangalore on April 17.

Now, when there is uncertainty over Mahendra Singh Dhoni's presence in the next game; the experts have started speculating about his replacement.

Some said that Ravindra Jadeja could be his good replacement but then if we look at the history of when Jadeja was given the team's captaincy, he failed to deliver. So, practically his chances are very less of returning as the skipper.

Another team player Moeen Ali has said that Rituraj Gaikwad and Ben Stokes can also be good choices for replacement. But, considering that Ben Stokes is also injured and will take some time to fully recover it is only Rituraj Gaikwad can be given the role.

Meanwhile, some people reacted to his statement and said that why not Moeen Ali himself captained the team. He also comes with good experience.

It will be a tough call for team management to churn out Mahendra Singh Dhoni's replacement as captain in Chennai Super Kings.
