IPL 2019: Mumbai Indians beat Sunrisers Hyderabad in super over to qualify for playoffs

Mumbai : Mumbai Indians played a nail-biting knock against Sunrisers Hyderabad to secure their berth in the playoffs of the Indian Premier League 2019. With the win, they have secured the second spot on the IPL points table with 16 points.

Winning the toss and opting to bat first, Mumbai Indians scored 162 runs in designated 20 overs; Sunrisers Hyderabad also scored the similar amount of runs in the chase.

The match then went into the super over to find the winner. Sunrisers Hyderabad gave Mumbai Indians a target of nine runs in the super over; Hardik Pandya hammered Rashid Khan for a six over long off in the first ball and then Kieron Pollard took the side home with three balls to spare.

Mumbai Indians will now face Kolkata Knight Riders on Sunday before they face a team in the playoffs.
