IPL 2019: Mumbai Indians claim fourth cup as CSK face 4th defeat

New Delhi : Exactly how nerve wrenching a final should be, IPL 2019 was true to its core, the last ball decider representing a true fight among the champions. Mumbai Indians won the final match with just one run against the Chennai Super Kings on Sunday.

With the win, Mumbai Indians have become the first team to win the IPL cup for four times. Also, this was Chennai Super Kings' fourth defeat against the Mumbai Indians in the IPL 2019.

The whole game went like a pendulum, sometimes in Mumbai's favour and other moment in Chennai's. A lot of dropped catches, miss fielding and extra runs were seen during the performance of both the teams.

The game was also a fight between the experience players. On one hand, Shane Watson played tactical game for his side, Bumrah's experience kept defending the Mumbai Indians side.

Watson carried Super Kings in the final with 80 off 59, twice undoing Mumbai's good work with his targeted assault of Mumbai bowlers, but his physical struggles got the better of him in the last over.

However, the match turning point was Mahendra Singh Dhoni's micro centimetre away runout. The wicket came in a bid to fetch an extra run but the decision went wrong with many believing that the third umpire decision was not correct.

With 53 runs for the loss of 1 wickets in the powerplays, Chennai Super Kings were the favourites.
