IPL 2020 Final: Delhi sets stage to see Mumbai again, defeats Hyderabad

Mumbai : Delhi Capitals have made their way to the final game of Indian Premier League as they defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad by 17 runs in the semi-final match on Sunday. The Capitals will now face Mumbai Indians in the final match of the tournament on Tuesday.

For Delhi, Shikhar Dhawan scored 78 off 49 balls, ensuring a fighting total of 189 runs for his side. Stoinis, who was promoted to open the innings, added 86 runs with Dhawan and later took three wickets for 26 runs in SRH’s run chase.

Breathtaking counter-attacking knocks by Kane Williamson – 67 – and Abdul Samad – 33 – threatened to dash Delhi Capitals hopes but Stoinis’ timely dismissal of the Kiwi batsman tilted it in his side’s favour.

Some credit to Hyderabad's sloppy fielding that helped Delhi Capitals in achieving the result. SRH also dropped Dhawan towards the end, though it did not cost them much.

Mumbai Indians had defeated Delhi Capitals in their last clash and it would be interesting to see what strategy will be adopted by Delhi this time in their attempt to clinch the maiden IPL trophy.
