India reach semi-finals as Netherlands stun South Africa in T20 World Cup 2022

New Delhi : Team India has made it to the semifinals of the ongoing T20 World Cup 2022 as the Netherlands on Sunday stunned South Africa with a 13-run defeat on the final day of the Super 12 stage. The other team to qualify for the semifinals from Group 2 is Pakistan, they ended at the second spot of the list.

Netherlands did a huge favour to Pakistan by securing a win over South Africa, who could have made it to the semifinals with a simple win. Facing defeat, South Africa stayed on table with five points while Pakistan reached six points after winning their game against Bangladesh on the day.

Now, when India has reached the semifinals of T20 World Cup, this will be the fourth time when Men in Blue will be playing the semi-final game in the tournament. Previously, India had reached the final four in 2007, 2014 and 2016. India has reached the final on two occasions with their solitary triumph coming in 2007 while they lost in 2014 final to Sri Lanka.

India vs Pakistan final chances?

Well, India will be facing England and Pakistan will be facing New Zealand in the upcoming semifinals and if the two teams manage to defeat the opponents then there is an excellent chance of watching India clashing with Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2022 final game.

If this is the case, then after 15 years both India and Pakistan will meet in the final of the T20 World Cup, having staged the final of the inaugural tournament in 2007.
