Neeraj Chopra clinches Diamond League Trophy with 88.44m throw
New Delhi : Neeraj Chopra has become the first Indian to clinch the prestigious Diamond League trophy with his brilliant 88.44m javelin throw.
He started the game with a foul, and in the second attempt he was picture perfect to score the winning 88.44 m throw. He maintained the lead in his third attempt too with 88.00 mt throw. Vadlejch, his closest competitor lost momentum as his throw was declared a ‘no throw’. Although, Vadlejch was his closest challenger with a throw of 86.94m in his fourth attempt.

Earlier in August, Neeraj Chopra clinched the javelin throw competition at the Lausanne Diamond League with a best throw of 89.08m. With his best throw at the event, Chopra became the first Indian to clinch the prestigious Diamond League Meeting title with a win in Lausanne. Neeraj had qualified for the Diamond League Finals after this win.
