Nothing plans to introduce a low-cost version of Phone (2) in order to diversify its product collection, which now consists mainly of smartphones. The phone, which is expected to go by the moniker Phone (2a), is thought to be a more subdued version of Phone (2), which was released earlier this year. Prior to its anticipated introduction at MWC 2025, a number of leaks and rumours regarding the smartphone have appeared online, disclosing important information about the next Nothing smartphone.

Nothing Phone (2a) expected requirements

The 6.7-inch OLED display on the Nothing Phone (2a) is said to be produced by Visionox and BOE in China. It will have FHD+ resolution and a fluid refresh rate of 120Hz to provide an immersive viewing experience. The smartphone is said to include two cameras on the back: a 50MP main sensor (Samsung model number: S5KGN9) and a second Samsung sensor. Users may anticipate a 32MP selfie camera on the front.

A MediaTek Dimensity 7200 processor with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage is rumoured to be powering the Phone (2a). Operating on Nothing OS 2.5, which is based on Android 14, the smartphone offers a smooth and modern user experience. There are also rumours of a somewhat altered Glyph interface on the rear. The Phone (2a), which blends performance, aesthetics, and affordability, promotes itself as an alluring choice in the mid-range smartphone market with an anticipated launch price of about €400.
