New Delhi : Meta-owned WhatsApp is now working on making their chats securer by disabling the screenshot feature in chats with view once media files. Currently, view once media can be opened once but viewer can take the screenshot.

Once the new feature is rolled out to all the users, they will not be allowed to take the screenshots of view once media files.

According to a report by WABetaInfo, the new features have been rolled out in WhatsApp update version 2.22.22.3 for android and iOS.

With this update, if a user will try to take the screenshot then a pop-up will come notifying that the screenshots cannot be taken due to security policy. Furthermore, if someone tries to record the screen then it will come black and there will be no recording.

Earlier, WhatsApp had launched the view once feature to ensure people can share pictures and videos without utilizing much of their mobile storage.

Meanwhile, the application has also launched a new security feature in which users can set who can view their online status.
