Delhi : Apple is planning to unveil its next generation of smartphones, the iPhone 15 series, in September this year. The upcoming Apple event is expected to introduce four variations: iPhone 15, Plus, Pro, and Pro Max.

Noteworthy Upgrades in iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus

iPhone 15 and its Plus variant will come with three significant upgrades compared to their predecessors. Here are the key details regarding these devices.

Dynamic Island and Back Panel

There are rumors suggesting that the standard models of the iPhone 15 series will feature Apple's new Dynamic Island technology, potentially incorporating a punch-hole display design. However, no official confirmation has been provided regarding this matter. Currently, the punch-hole design is exclusive to the iPhone 14 Pro models. Nevertheless, speculations have been circulating that this might change with the release of the iPhone 15 series. This design change would help distinguish the new models from their predecessors, addressing previous criticism regarding the similarity in design over the years.

In addition, leaked information suggests that the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus might showcase a frosted glass back with a matte finish, similar to the iPhone 14 Pro models from the previous year.

Camera Enhancement

Reports indicate that the regular versions of the iPhone 15 series may feature 48-megapixel rear cameras, an improvement over the 12-megapixel sensors in current iPhone models. However, it is important to note that the standard models may not include a telephoto lens for optical zoom or a LiDAR sensor. These features are expected to be exclusive to the higher-end models. On the other hand, the Pro Max model is rumored to have an enhanced camera module, potentially equipped with periscope lenses that enable 5-6x optical zoom, along with other sensors.

Transition to USB-Type C

In 2023, a notable change expected in the iPhones is the replacement of Apple's Lightning port, found in previous models, with a USB Type-C port, as reported by various sources.
