Delhi : Google is introducing a new Play Store feature that will allow users to remotely delete apps on devices to which they have signed in. According to the most recent Google System update changelog, the capability is supported on all Android instances.

This means you can now quickly delete applications from your smartphone from your watch, TV, Auto, Wear OS-powered wearables, and other Android-powered devices. While downloading applications on linked Android devices is very simple, removing apps necessitates a trip to the Play Store settings.

How do I remove applications from linked devices?

  • To locate the option, navigate to the 'Manage' tab on the 'Manage applications and devices' page.
  • Select 'This device' from the drop-down menu. Similar to the install option, tapping on it will display a list of all your connected devices.
  • Select the device to manage, and Play Store will provide a list of all the apps loaded on that device.
  • You will now be able to decide which apps to delete. Tap the delete button in the upper right corner of the screen, and Play Store will ask you if you want to remove the app or applications from that device.

According to a recent article by TheSpAndroid, the app list includes both user and system apps, with some user apps missing. Google appears to have also included a new option that allows you to arrange the applications on your smartphone by name or size. If you want to check which applications are taking up the most space on your Google TV or WearOS-powered wristwatch, try this feature.

The functionality appears to be under development as it is not yet available to everyone. Furthermore, it is unknown whether or not Google will roll out the function, so you may have to wait a bit before it becomes available on your devices.
