New Delhi : Facebook-owned Instagram is in news for its new payment app which allows users to store payment details and buy products directly inside the Instagram app without flipping on other websites. Popular social networking site Instagram has launched a new update that ensures to offer delightful shopping experience to its users. Instagram payment app allows to store payment information  like debit card/credit card details and buy products directly inside the Instagram app, reports TechCrunch. Users can add their card details and can see it under Settings in the app. This will even lets users to track previous payments. To add more security, one can set a pin code to lock their information.

By updating payment information, users, now, do not have to leave the Instagram app to make payments. The kind of feature was made readily available to the Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp. The in-payments feature on Instagram is a latest addition as its rival Snapchat had added Snapcash, a native payments solution, earlier.

However, it is worth noting that the scope of payments on Instagram will not be as diverse as applicable on WhatsApp. Users, on WhatsApp, could transfer money to other contacts and even pay for goods and services to make purchase offline. 

In addition to payment app, Instagram is equipped with Resy, a restaurant booking app. The app now offers a dedicated payments option for booking a table from their Instagram Page. Users can easily make a ‘eating out’ plan while surfing their social media account. Though, this new feature is not visible to all the Instagram users. The service is limited to some of the users in the US and UK. India is yet to enjoy this attractive Instagram feature.
