New Delhi : Now, online shopping in Instagram would offer great experience to buyers. The Facebook-owned Instagram is all set to introduce its in-app payments feature which will allow users to make purchase of their desired products without leaving the app. Though the app might be UPI (Unified Payment Interface), it can be utilised to shop in Instagram social networking site directly.

TechCrunch reports, this new payment feature allows users to purchase the items within the Instagram app. To avail this facility, users need to register their debit or credit card in their profiles. For security, the registered profile can also be locked with a security pin code. After setting up of the required details, the payments feature can be used for booking appointments at restaurants and salons. However, the feature is live for a limited set of partners.

For now, an app named Resy, meant for dinner reservation is being added with this new feature. With the help of the app, user can book a table within the Instagram page of Resy. Few more pages are also expected to add this in-app payment feature in a few days to come. At present, the ‘Resy’ feature is only available for selected users in the US and UK.

Earlier in March, Instagram has announced, "we’ll roll out the ability to book a service with a business directly from their profile later this year," but there wasn't any words regarding this new in-app payment feature.

Sources confirmed that good number of brands have started promoting their products on their respective pages on the Instagram app. The native in-app payment feature combined with in-app purchases can, therefore, be more easily accessible and attractable for all the users. It is likely that this new feature could give the companies a substantial reason to advertise more on Instagram.
