In order to strengthen an extra degree of security, Meta's WhatsApp on Thursday unveiled a new feature called "secret code," which allows users to create a "unique password" for opening their closed messages. The "chat lock" option was first made available on the instant messaging platform in May of this year.

"Rolling out secret code to Chat Lock on WhatsApp so you can protect your chats with a unique password," stated Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg in a blog post.
