Delhi : OTT giant Netflix has unveiled a new feature that would improve users' access to subtitles and closed captions on the platform. The text on TV can have the font and size changed by a subscriber. In addition, new font styles with backgrounds have made their Broadcast premiere.

There will be three options for the size of the CC and subtitles: small, medium, and huge. The new font styles have three different background options: Light (white background), Drop Shadow (black background), and Contrast (black background with yellow letters on top). The chosen style will affect how the text is coloured. This will improve readability in general on large displays.

A user can modify the settings from the player controls settings, according to the Netflix Help Center. The functions were already present on the platform for PCs and cellphones.

Specifically, viewers with poor vision or hearing will benefit from the newest functionality. Also, a wide variety of subtitled and captioned video is available on Netflix for users from many language regions.

In the meantime, the platform announced price reductions in 30 nations in an effort to increase the number of subscribers. The nations are spread over sections of Asia, Europe, South America, sub-Saharan Africa, and the Middle East.

Also, the business has cracked down on Canada, New Zealand, Portugal, and Spain in an effort to eradicate the practise of password sharing.

Amazon, Disney, and HBO are just a few of the outlets that the OTT service must contend with. Similar individualised capability across devices is provided by rival OTT services on their platforms.
